Writer and Producer of the Alban Arena pantomimes, Paul Hendy from Evolution Productions said: “The thought of Christmas without the Alban Arena pantomime is very upsetting.  However, the audiences at the Alban Arena are wonderful and I know they will understand this decision and be supportive of it.  Will the Alban Arena pantomime return? Oh yes it will!”

The legendary Pantomime Dame, Bob Golding said: “For myself, all the team at Evolution Pantomimes and the Alban Arena family, this news is heart-breaking as we pride ourselves year after year on bringing the best possible quality panto to St Albans… and although  this isn’t the best announcement to make, please do continue to support your theatre in every way you can…. & like a Phoenix we WILL rise again.”

We are continuing to review and digest the government guidelines for the remobilisation of theatres whilst also awaiting a further update on the financial support package the government have announced to support the industry. At the current time the theatre remains closed, as they have been since the end of March, with all performances cancelled or rescheduled up to Sept 3oth 2020.

The box office remains closed for physical visits but our team are working through in chronological order to advise all customers of revised dates for rescheduled performances. Should revised dates not be suitable, either credit on account or alternative tickets shall be offered to the value of original booking. All reschedule performances will be updated on the website and social media as changes are made.

The government if currently undertaking indoor trials with audiences with the hope of updating and permitting live audiences with restricted capacities at some point in August. We eagerly await the results and updated guidelines and will then review how best we can implement these before announcing any revised schedule

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during this difficult period for the industry.
