The Alban Arena’s new July to September season is now on sale and with brand new shows alongside some old favourites, there will be something for everyone!

The Birmingham Stage Company production of 'Horrible Histories: The Terrible Tudors & The Vile Victorians' (Tues 9 - Thurs 11 Sept) is joining us for the first time. Featuring actors and ground-breaking 3D special effects, these shows are guaranteed to thrill you and your children so book early. The Reduced Shakespeare Company brings us 'The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged)' (Sunday 21 Sept) it's an affectionate, irreverent roller coaster ride from fig leaves to Final Judgment as the boys tackle the great theological questions, whatever your beliefs you will be tickled by the RSC's romp through old time religion.

It is time once again, for the fortnight of art and entertainment that is the St Albans festival. There is plenty on offer including some fantastic shows at the Arena such as 'The Australian Pink Floyd Show' (Sun 22 June), Pasadena Roof Orchestra (Thurs 26 June) and 'Journey South' (Thu 3 July). We have some incredible bands with us this season, including the return of 'Boy George' (Fri 4 July) who has wowed audiences and critics with hits from Culture Club, his solo career, great covers plus new writing, 'Oysterband plus special support, Graham Robins and Ronnie Johnson' (Weds 2 July) are one of the most irresistible bands of the last decade , you wont want to miss out on seeing them live and kicking and 'Hayseed Dixie' originally described as a 'hillbilly tribute to AC/DC', If you are looking for a foot-stomping, barn storming evening of great entertainment with great musicians and a whole lot of fun - then BOOK NOW!!! They sell out fast!!!

With the summer holidays just around the corner we have a great selection of family shows to keep every one entertained with Sing-a-Long-a-Sound of Music (Sat 26 July), Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs (Tues 29 July) and Happy's Circus (Thurs 28 Aug) not to mention 'The Spiderwick Chronicles' (Weds 30 & Thurs 31 July, Sat 2 Aug).

We have an amazing line up of films for you this season including the Box Office smash Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Tues 26, Wed 27 & Sat 30 August), Our International Film Festival (Tues 8 - Sat 12 July), which brings together top titles from Poland, Italy, France & the best of British film including, Mike Leigh's' 'Happy Go Lucky' (Wed 23 & Thurs 24 July) and Garth Jennings' Son of Rambow' (Wed 17 Sept) please pick up a film flyer for full listings.

September brings some astounding comedy to your door with Rhona Cameron coming to the Arena on Friday 5 September, after last years sell out run at the Edinburgh Fringe, expect new material, impeccable timing and her classic style of observational humour. 'Double Header' (Sat 6 Sept) starring Norman Lovett and Hattie Hayridge (the two heads of Holly from Red Dwarf) team up for the first time ever to bring you an unmissable evening of comedy- a must see for die hard fans everywhere! Later in the month we have one of comedy's fastest rising stars Jim Jeffries (Tues 30 Sept) be prepared to be amused and offended, often at the same time.
